Our Story

The Promise

Early on, we committed to making locally, and that means we know everyone involved in our production - the printers, cutters and makers.  It still gives me a thrill when I’m hosting lunch at home and I see everyone chatting around a tablecloth that began its life with my feet in the sand at Bondi. Looking ahead, we’re excited about our extending our table range, with additional pieces that complement our linens. And we’ll be exploring down south a little more, with trips to the Mornington and Eyre Peninsulas.

How it started

Sarah grew up in Sydney, Australia, spending her childhood swimming and exploring the rock pools and coastline around Tamarama and Mackenzie’s Bay. It created lifelong love of the sea. Her passion for photography developed after she was given a Canon SLR for her 11th birthday. She took it everywhere, capturing the beaches, surfboard riders and sunbathers, as well as family and friends.

Following a career in journalism in Australia and then at the BBC in London, Sarah moved ot New York with her family. There, she returned to photography establishing a family portrait and fine art studio. Now, back in Sydney, Sarah has turned her eye to creating distinctive works of art for the home - stunning framed prints for the wall, as well as handcrafted accessories and homewares, all featuring her images of the sea, all designed and made in Australia.

The Mission

Our business is about the combined loves of photography, Australian beaches and creating a beautiful home. With that in mind, each piece we make must look good, feel wonderful and be useful.Natural fibres are key - floaty, featherweight sarongs in cotton/silk, premium linen tea towels and napkins with the right amount of crumple, crisp cotton aprons that look smooth and sharp. We also wanted to create a range that friends and family overseas would love; tasteful, beautifully made little memories of Australia.
